A different way of thinking about home support.

  • A home is an ecosystem of people, physical spaces, and experiences. Household needs are constantly shifting and affecting each other.

Jigsaw approaches home support that way, not as a checklist of tasks, but as a complex living system.

My role in your home evolves as your needs shift.

  • Jigsaw’s approach to home support draws on expertise across domains such as organizational systems and human development, and requires skills that range from operational and practical to relational discernment.

Jigsaw aims to help demystify domestic work by recognizing the skills and specialized knowledge required to work effectively inside someone’s private life.

  • Support strengthens the longer we work together. A Jigsaw relationship deepens over time, becomes more intuitive, and provides both proactive and responsive support that grows alongside you.

Modern life has increasingly eroded the structures that once supported household functioning and wellbeing: extended family nearby, close-knit neighbourhoods, and the stronger sense of general community that made the daily load lighter.

What’s left today is one or two people trying to manage everything, without sufficient time or hands to do so. Households are left feeling overwhelmed and under-supported, stuck in a perpetual cycle of catching up and falling behind.

This isn’t a personal problem; it’s a structural one.

Most existing domestic support is systematic—it targets one thing at a time. A cleaner or a nanny here, an organizer there. But with fragmented support, there is no one there to hold the whole picture, meaning the problem is only ever partially solved.

A systemic issue like household functioning requires a systemic approach in response—a combination of practical and personal support informed by proximity and familiarity over time. That’s what Jigsaw is for.

We were never supposed to do this alone.

This is not a cleaning service.

Jigsaw Home Systems is a home and family consultancy, and the distinction matters.

Most home support is transactional by design; someone comes, completes an assigned task, and leaves. That model works for some things.

However, it doesn’t work for the kind of accumulated, complex overwhelm that most busy households are living with. You can’t task-list your way out of a living system that isn’t working.

In addition to hands-on household support—like washing the dishes, doing the laundry, or restocking the refrigerator—Jigsaw provides responsive, systemic support, asking:

What is or isn’t working for this household, in this home, at this moment?

The answer looks different for every household, and that’s the point.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth.

I’ve spent over ten years working in private households, in roles ranging from childcare and family support to household management and organization.

I hold an M.A. from McGill University, where my research examined quality in early childhood settings as a relational process—shaped by our environment and circumstances—rather than a universally applicable checklist or fixed outcome.

That’s exactly how Jigsaw approaches household support. The results are in the relationship.
